CLUB HISTORY (SO FAR.....)

Kidlington Royals are the only Sunday League side in Kidlington, the largest village in Britain.

Affiliated with the Oxfordshire FA, The Royals currently play in the Premier Division of the Upper Thames Valley League, the main Sunday league in Oxfordshire and West Berkshire after winning Divison 1 in 2011/2012 with a 100% win record.

Kidlington Royals were founded in 2004 as The Black Horse Kidlington. After  difficult first season in Division 3A, they quickly won promotion the following season. This was followed by another promotion the season after which saw The Royals in the top division after only 3 years in existence.

Kidlington were to remain in the top division until controversially demoted with the formation of the Premier Division, despite finishing well above the relegation zone. This led to a difficult time for the Royals with many of the star players signing elsewhere in the pursuit of top flight football.

In 2012 they won the league in style, reaching the final of the Sam Waters for the first time in their history along with the final of the Headley Toms/Michael Brown Trophy and the UTV league 6-a-side.

Former AFC Hinksey boss Gavin Preston has joined the club as Director of Football for the 2012/13 season, bringing with him some of the cream of last years all conquering Hinksey team, adding to the already top quality standard of the Royals squad.

2012/13 looks set to be the best season in the history of the club.
